Set 2 - Brad

Having grasped a basic knowledge of the lighting in a closed environment I took the lights to a friend of mines tattoo studio and attempted to take portraits and also document him in his working environment. The problem with these photos is that it is quite obvious that many of the pictures are posed, a direct result of the subject feeling uncomfortable in the given environment, this is another factor that I will have to take into account through this project.
Most successful image
I feel that this photo is reasonably well light and also that the location, the subjects tattoo studio, gives more of an impression of who they are. The facial expression is still somewhat blank but the eye contact is still apparent. My criticisms of this are that it is still relatively boring and looking a little forced.

Least successful image
This is a portrait that I had attempted to take off the cuff in order to capture the subject in a more relaxed environment. However this meant there was no real chance to compose the photo. However by biggest qualm is that of the light obviously reflecting in the subjects glasses, this is a problem too big to ignore and one that I will have to make a conscious effort to avoid in the future

More of these images can be seen in a small booklet and the rest will be contained on a memory stick upon hand in.
