Set 3 - Patrick

The following photos are taken using the lighting in my friends house, they involve various seating positions and expressions in an attempt to reflect different things. The subject also suggested using props in order to give a sense of character, however as shown below this went quite far and started detracting from the portrait element.

Most successful image
This is the first time any of the sitters had really used props, I think that this may have possibly gone a little too far but the result is definitely a much more interesting image. The subject is fairly well light, with a mixture of natural and artificial light, and still shows quite a series expression while still retaining a level of playfulness in the use of props.
Least successful image
I feel this image is poorly composed with the sofas ends being cut off and the bottom of the painting behind cutting into the image, this makes he image feel somewhat cluttered as opposed to just showing the actual surroundings. Furthermore I didn't manage to balance the natural and artificial light in this picture resulting in one side of the subject being washed out and very yellow overtones. On top of this the image is not well focused but I think that the pose is fairly good and had the potential to be a much better photo.

More of these images can be seen in a small booklet and the rest will be contained on a memory stick upon hand in.
